(Assistance with relocation may apply).About the opportunity…Primary Health Tasmania has an exciting opportunity for an experienced executive manager to join its small Executive Team of five as the General Manager – Health Service Commissioning. Primary Health Tasmania delivers a significant proportion of its work through a blend of activity, program, and project processes. This requires a shift to a longer-term, outcomes focus and build a robust, consistent, and sustainable health service commissioning approach.Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead two functional teams (Contractor Relationships and Service Design), representing two direct reports and a 15 person Health Service Commissioning business team.What you would be doing…As a key member of Primary Health Tasmania’s Executive Team, you will provide organisational leadership as well as being responsible for leading a high quality, consistent and contemporary commissioning team which includes service design modelling, service contracting, contractor relationships and performance monitoring and management.As a senior representative of Primary Health Tasmania, you will engage with key stakeholders at a national level, ensuring that national health policy informs Primary Health Tasmania’s health strategies, and that these strategies are adhered to across the breadth of our programmatic work – ultimately improving health outcomes for the Tasmanian community.Here's what you’ll look like…You’ll have relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in a senior leadership role where you have proven success in strategically oversighting business area outcomes.You’ll be able to demonstrate capacity to understand a variety of service delivery and purchasing contexts in health, consistent with the responsibilities and focusses of a Primary Health Network (PHN).Your ability to engage and build successful relationships with key stakeholders at a high level will make you stand out from the crowd.You’ll have knowledge of the Australian health system and the ability to apply system reform at the local level.You’ll have strong, values-based leadership attributes and as a culture champion you understand that every day, you play an important part in what makes Primary Health Tasmania a great place to work.Benefits of working with us…Salary packaging up to $15,900 - less tax means more take home pay.Up to $2,650 of pre-tax income can be used to pay for entertainment expenses (meals, holiday accommodation etc.)A fully maintained motor vehicle, including for private use.Hybrid model of working from the office and home (after completion of probation period)Discounted private health insurance.Generous leave and family care benefits – such as, an additional 5 days of paid Carer’s Leave per year, paid Parental Leave, 3 days of additional paid leave between Christmas and New YearFriendly and inclusive workplace culture which embraces the diversity of its people.Here’s some information about us…We are a not-for-profit organisation funded by the Australian Government to connect care and keep Tasmanians well and out of hospital.
