We are looking for flexible and adaptable candidates who are open to relocation for their training experience and post program position.The Leadership Development Program is designed to develop key skills and experience that will lead to a branch management position within our Performance Coatings Group. In our Performance Coatings Group, you will be assigned to one of our controlled distribution locations to support sales activity for our Automotive division to gain key experiences and activities to prepare for a Branch Manager position.Experience and knowledge gained in the Leadership Development Program includes:Management:Develop leadership skills to effectively manage others and drive positive business results in a branch environment.Build acumen around the Sherwin-Williams business segments, customers, and go-to-market strategy.Gain a thorough understanding of Sherwin-Williams processes and systems.Learn warehouse and delivery operations.Build understanding of distribution methods.Develop color matching skills to meet customer needs including tinting, blending and mixing of products.Learn to oversee operations including recruitment of employees, leading safety initiatives and scheduling staff hours.Learn the day-to-day branch operations, including asset, inventory management (Profit & Loss), order process, audits and cycle counts.Gain knowledge and understanding of the product offerings and applications.Learn how to drive business results through facility and branch staff positions including Warehouse Workers, Customer Service Associates, Drivers and Blenders.Sales Support:Develop strategic plans to effectively understand and meet current and prospective customer needs.Understand the pricing strategy and how it is executed.Execute product application and troubleshoot product issues.Support Sales and Technical Services in meeting financial goals and gain an understanding of territory and budget management (Profit & Loss).Build cross-functional partnerships with and understand the interaction of Sales, Marketing, Operations, Customer Service, Technical Services and R&D to execute sales strategy and strategic advantagesAssist in collecting market information on customers and competitors, estimating customer potential, and estimating the facility/branch's market share.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in business or operations related field2.7 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scalePrevious experience in management, sales and/or customer service obtained through real work experience or internshipsDrive to be in sales and/or management positionsMust be open to relocation based on business need for training, post program position and promotional opportunitiesMust be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorshipMust be able to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks, and lift and carry up to 50 lbs for short distances.Preferred:Business, operations and/or management related certificationsPaint and coatings industry knowledge or experienceWell-developed analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skillsStrong communication, relationship building and organizational skillsLeadership in extra-curricular activities/organizationsInvolvement in student organizations such as Operations Management Association, APICS, Future Business Leaders of AmericaAbout Performance Coatings Group at Sherwin-Williams:The Sherwin-Williams Performance Coatings Group supplies a broad range of highly-engineered solutions for the construction, industrial, packaging and transportation markets in more than 120 countries around the world.
