On 19 March 2020, a public health emergency was declared in the ACT due to the public health risks posed by coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-COV-2. A COVID-19 Response Team has been created to deliver the public health response over a longer term.The COVID-19 Response Team is seeking casual Customer Service Officers to assist with the COVID-19 public health response. Casual staff are required to conduct contact tracing for COVID-19 cases, welfare monitoring of people in quarantine, assisting with the implementation of public health directions such as travel restrictions, responding to phone enquiries regarding COVID-19, and other tasks  as required  to assist the Public Health Emergency Coordination Centre (PHECC) and the broader ACT Health Directorate.
