About Sport Integrity Australia Sport Integrity Australia leads the Australian government’s efforts to protect sport against threats to its integrity – doping, competition manipulation and the mistreatment and abuse of sports participants. Led by David Sharpe APM OAM, Sport Integrity Australia is the cornerstone of the government's comprehensive sport integrity strategy: Safeguarding the Integrity of Sport. Our role is to provide advice and assistance to counter the: use of prohibited substances and methods in sport abuse of children and other persons in a sporting environment manipulation of sporting competitions failure to protect members of sporting organisations and other persons in a sporting environment from bullying, intimidation, discrimination or harassment. Sporting organisations, and other stakeholders, benefit from the ability to deal with a single nationally coordinated organisation to address all sport integrity issues. Sport Integrity Australia offers guidance on integrity matters to sports that don’t have developed integrity capabilities. Our focus is policy development, intelligence, investigations (primarily of doping cases), education, outreach and capability building. We are Australia's National Anti-Doping Organisation. Primary purpose of the role A Sport Integrity Australia Senior Investigator is responsible for planning and conducting specific investigation activities into: Possible Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRVs) Sport Integrity matters; and Allegations of fraud against Sport Integrity Australia. A Sport Integrity Australia Senior Investigator primarily conducts investigations into ADRVs by athletes or athlete support persons and Sport Integrity matters in line with the National Integrity Framework. In conducting this function the team works closely with other areas of Sport Integrity Australia, Australian regulatory and law enforcement bodies, anti-doping organisations internationally, sports organisations and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). In addition the Sport Integrity Australia’s Investigation Team is responsible for the investigation of allegations of fraud against the agency. All investigations are conducted in accordance with legislative requirements and best practice methodologies. Key duties The duties of the Senior Investigator include, but is not limited to: Effectively, efficiently and professionally work as a member of a team/or as investigations case officer of investigations into possible ADRVs in Australian sport in accordance with Sport Integrity Australia priorities; Effectively, efficiently and professionally work as a member of a team/or as investigations case officer of investigations into possible sports integrity matters, in line with sport policies, and in accordance with legislative requirements and best practice methodologies; Effectively, efficiently and professionally work as a member of a team/or as investigations case officer office in investigations of allegations of fraud against the agency; All ADRV investigations are to be conducted in accordance with the requirements of Sport Integrity Australia Act 2020, Sport Integrity Australia Regulations 2020, WADA’s International Standard for Testing and Investigations; All investigations are to be conducted in accordance with relevant Australian Government legislation and policies, including the Australian Government Investigations Standards; Plan and manage the use of team resources to ensure accountability that required outcomes are delivered within agreed timeframes and within budget; Maintain sustainable and effective operational relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders including Australian regulatory and law enforcement bodies, anti-doping organisations internationally, and WADA; Enhance the capability and reputation of Sport Integrity Australia; Assist, identify and recommend mitigation strategies for potential risks to achieving Sport Integrity Australia’s mission and objectives; Develop written investigation plans, reports and high quality briefs of evidence The duties of the Senior Investigator will vary according to the needs of the Executive and Senior Executive as informed by the Director Investigations. Ability to lead multiple concurrent investigations. Ensuring that competing priorities are managed effectively in order for the investigation to be completed thoroughly and in a timely manner. Well-developed oral and written communication skills, including the ability to support and maintain productive working relationships.
