(Trade qualifications / training is desirable but not necessary)SC2 Demonstrated knowledge and experience to carry out grounds maintenance to school facilities, including gardening and landscaping.SC3 High level interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively interact and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders.SC4 Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team, to follow instructions and take responsibility to work independently without direct supervision.SC5 Knowledge of OH&S and the ability to identify and manage risk within the workplace.SC6 Demonstrated commitment to professional learning and growth for both self and others.RoleThe Facilities Maintenance Officer fulfils an important role in conjunction with the Facilities Manager for performing ‘hands on’ tasks related to the day to day buildings and grounds maintenance operation of the school.An Educational Support Range 2 person performs and/or supervises tasks that are carried out in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice and school policy. Supervision and coordination would be limited to ensuring routine tasks are performed to required standards. ResponsibilitiesBe familiar with the essential services such as mechanical, gas, electrical and hydraulic systems of the school.Undertake daily building maintenance tasks when required in a timely manner. Undertake the maintenance and repair and movement of furniture. This include movement of furniture for special events, exams etc.Ensure that broken/ damaged equipment is repaired or disposed of in a timely manner. Keep all tools, plant and equipment maintained in good operating condition and stored in a safe manner.
