On 19 March 2020, a public health emergency was declared in the ACT due to the public health risks posed by coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-COV-2. This saw the establishment of a Health Emergency Coordination Centre (HECC) - A COVID-19 Response Team has been created to deliver the public health response over a longer term. The Directorate is looking for a highly efficient and dedicated staff member to join the COVID-19 response team as an Exemptions Officer. The occupant of this exciting role will be responsible for managing exemption applications made under the Public Health Emergency Directions. These will predominantly relate to events in the ACT but could relate to exemptions for international travel, domestic travel when restrictions are in place, or in relation to business exemptions.
