The Centre has received $34.9 million funding from the Australian Research Council to operate from 2020-2027.TMOS will develop the next-generation of miniaturised optical systems with functionalities beyond what is conceivable today. By harnessing the disruptive concept of meta-optics, the Centre will overcome complex challenges in light generation, manipulation and detection at the nanoscale. This critical mass of researchers is of fundamental importance in fostering the kind of interdisciplinary interactions that create modern research excellence.The PositionBased in the department of Electronic and Materials Engineering within the Research School of Physics, the Engagement Officer is responsible for the provision of communications and marketing support in alignment with communications strategies and plans, under the supervision of the Engagement Manager. This includes: Developing written and multimedia marketing and communication materials for internal and external audiencesCoordinating online and in-person events and tasks related to TMOS strategies and objectivesManaging the TMOS website, social media and online platforms including content development and back-end maintenanceCommunicating complex scientific concepts into relatable, accessible language for the everyday personSupporting external stakeholder relationship managementBuilding networks within universities The PersonTo excel in this role, you will have experience in communications, events, marketing or related disciplines and a desire to expand your skillset.
