The Intensive Care Unit has unlimited accreditation with the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand for training in intensive care and has advanced trainees providing after hours cover. The Intensive Care Unit is a core member of ANZICS.The unit satisfies College requirements for training in Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic and Trauma. The unit participates in international multi-disciplinary and multi-center research. The unit has a strong commitment to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate and research with excellent opportunities for collaborative research.CHS is the single tertiary teaching hospital for the Australian Capital Territory and surrounding NSW region serving a population in excess of 650 000.Assistant in Nursing works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to deliver person-centered nursing care within a dynamic health environment. They provide support services to registered nurses and allied health as well as general personal care of patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
