Your new company A Government Department is seeking an APS6 Security Officer to help achieve outcomes in a contract role through until June 2022, commencing ASAP to assist a great team during a busy time. Your new role Lead packages of work in a whole-of-government security context. Perform the review of risk assessments, coordinate the advice of stakeholders and prepare supporting documentation to evidence the implementation of risk treatments or the acceptance of risk. Coordinate advice to stakeholders on any disclosable outcomes or denial of security clearance that occurs for their review and decision. Ensure security information systems are accurate and kept up to date and assist in the conduct of regular security audits. Develop and support key internal and external relationships, including managing stakeholders to achieve work area and agency goals. In addition, represent the agency by promoting its interests in various forums. Make and communicate decisions using good judgement, expertise and knowledge, governed by legislation, regulations, best practice principles or relevant operating instructions and procedures. Perform additional duties or assume responsibility of functions as directed from time to time. The Security Officer supports the Security Manager in the provision of matters relating to the security of the department within the Cyber Security, Governance & Assurance Section of the Digital Technology & Communications Branch during a major project/event.
