Your new role As a senior member of the Engineering team you will be independent and proactive in designing firmware for Electronic products for use in the Automotive industry. You will participate in all stages of the New Product Development process, from research and conceptualisation through to mass manufacturing. Your main duties will include; Developing of embedded microprocessor firmware using C, and other languages where appropriate Maintaining of existing firmware to correct errors, improve performance, add features or port to new hardware Developing and maintaining of support software to aid in the development of firmware and hardware, and the manufacturing of product, using Ruby, C#, and other languages where appropriate Tracking and recording firmware development history through use of version control and bug-tracking software Developing and maintaining software, firmware, and project documentation Developing and performing manual and automatic firmware testing and validation procedures Performing code reviews and mentoring junior members of the team What you'll need to succeed You will ideally have had engineering experience in an electronic product development environment and experience working with CAN or other network communication protocols. You will also have a Bachelor Degree or Associate Diploma in Electronics or Computer Systems Engineering with minimum 3 years industry experience preferably in : Automotive, Defence or Mining industries.
