Great field-based Diesel Mechanic opportunity, based out of the Sunshine Coast branch. Your new company Our client is one of Australia’s leading earthmoving equipment operations, specialising in the supply of a wide range of rental heavy earthmoving equipment. Due to recent growth, our client is looking for a Diesel Mechanic for a field-based role, based out of their Sunshine Coast branch. Your new role This role will see you acting as the customer’s support out on site. Our client is looking for candidates with previous experience performing diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance on a range of machinery. You will work on: Wheel loaders Dump trucks Compactors Application rollers Excavators Graders and Access equipment. You will bring the following skills and experience to the role: Mechanical Trade Certificate A current QLD MR or HR Driver’s licence and a clean driving history Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems Previous experience with engine overhauls and major repairs including electrical, hydraulic and diagnostic skills Excellent customer service focus and dedicated work ethic The ability to work unsupervised and autonomously, as well as collaboratively within a team Confident user of an Ipad for work-related tasks A mature attitude and logical and methodical approach to your work which will enable you to work through problems in both a workshop and field environment. So, what's the job? As a Trainee Tyre Fitter (year 1) your duties will include. Using car lifter and jacking vehicles Demounting existing tyres and mounting replacements Diagnosing and assessing tyre damage Diagnosing wheel balance problems and balancing wheels Repairing or replacing tubed and tubeless tyres Locating and assessing punctures Working on light and/or heavy vehicles, dependent on location. What's the deal with a Traineeship? A Traineeship is a combination of full-time paid work and a formal qualification. We are looking for candidates who are able to commit to the entire 24 months and beyond. This position is for the Beaurepaires Maroochydore store and you will be completing a Certificate II in Automotive Tyre Servicing Technology and a Certificate III in Business. Training will be delivered in the workplace and you will have up to three hours each week to put towards your studies.
