Your new company Hays Engineering are working closely with this multi-disciplinary consultancy to supply high quality candidates to a well-established team of professional engineers. Based in the West of Melbourne and with future work already secured for this year and next, they have a Full-Time role available for a Civil Structural Engineer (Temporary Works). Your new role To carry out design for propping and shoring projects when required, and completing analysis of Company designed products, while liaising with customers and contract engineers when necessary. Your responsibilities will include: Design Propping and Shoring Products: Liaise with customers, customer’s engineers, outside contractors or any other person who is a stakeholder in the project and ensure that the equipment to be supplied is fit for purpose. Use appropriate computer programmes or Finite Element Design to ensure that the most efficient methodology is carried out. Design Company Products: In conjunction with senior management, be integral in the concept, design and manufacturing of products. Carry out research and development to ensure the most modern, efficient and up to date equipment is available. Customer Liaison: Be alert for opportunities to promote the sale of other products within the Company’s product catalogue. As required, provide technical support and advice to staff and customers for all products. Take responsibility for your own personal safety both within the Company’s premises, and when involved with Company business away from the Company’s premise. What you'll need to succeed Relevant degree recognized by Engineers Australia, Chartered Professional Engineer or equivalent preferable; Experience in Temporary Works design 6 years’ experience working on projects in high rise construction, transportation projects, re-development and upgrade of existing buildings, new builds and complicated structures; Demonstrated experience leading large multi-disciplinary teams and coordinating project delivery; Strong client-facing presence and negotiation skills; Well-developed technical and commercial skills, with a sound knowledge of the industry and a demonstrated ability in securing opportunities; and Excellent communication and relationship building skills, both internally and externally.
