Thus, possessing strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to collaborate effectively would greatly benefit the position.Please note that this position is located in Orange, NSW, and operates on a rotating 7/7 roster, requiring the successful candidate to work alternating day and night shifts.Key responsibilities include but not limited to: Ensure a safe working environment by understanding and enforcing all site Policies, Procedures, Standards, and Safety requirements. Participate in Surface Operations Team activities to execute approved plans and achieve targeted outcomes. Familiarize yourself with the daily plan and contribute to shift start meetings. Raise and complete Business Improvement initiatives. Comply with the Company Safety Management System and Environmental Plan to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Report all safety incidents immediately and conduct workplace inspections and documentation audits. We bring out the best in each other, inspiring performance, and a shared belief that what we do matters.We are now recruiting for the position of Senior Project Geologist for a FIFO position at our Lihir Gold Operation in Papua New Guinea.As the Resource Development Superintendent's direct report, your primary responsibility will be to cultivate a proficient, motivated, and cohesive team that consistently delivers industry best practice services to deliver resource growth and extension at the world-class Ladolam Deposit.The role will have responsibility to: Support the site Safety Management System, to ensure proactive safety behaviours within workgroups through visible leadership. Develop team of geologists and technicians through regular feedback, coaching and formal training. Demonstrate technical and conceptual excellence in anticipating problems and guiding the team to deliver on section goals. Manage all aspects of Resource Development diamond drilling activities, encompassing the entire process from initial planning and preparation to execution and interpretation. This includes overseeing all sample workflows and effectively managing drill contractor performance to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget. Ensure the collection of data upholds the highest standards, meticulously maintaining QAQC throughout every step of the process. Collaborate with all stakeholders, ensuring all work is planned and executed on time. Commit to achieving a safe working environment by meeting CCV targets and identifying opportunities to improve safety performance across site. Ensure all logging and processing is completed on time and to the highest standard. Essential criteriaIdeally, our preferred applicant will have; Tertiary Bachelor Degree in Geology. Relevant Post Graduate qualification advantageous. 8+ years relevant work experience essential, preferably in a large scale surface mining operation. Experience in supervising teams. PNG Driver’s License Class 6. Proficient in English with exceptional verbal and written communication, as well as excellent public speaking skills. Computer proficiency in MS Office suite, acQuire and Leapfrog software package. Sound planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously. Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines. Strong active listening and interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution and training. The Requirements Must be available for FIFO to Lihir Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment. Must have proof of a completed Police Clearance within the last six months.
