About the RoleOur Newmont Lihir Gold mine operation has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and committed Superintendent – Field Maintenance to join our Fleet Maintenance team. This role is offered on a 2-year Fixed Term-Full time basis.Reporting to the Manager – Mobile Fleet Maintenance you will maintain the Field Maintenance Fleet equipment and ensure the fleet is available, reliable, productive and safe to operate for the mining and site operations.Your key accountabilities include: Ensure a safe work environment is maintained along with safe work practices. Develop and implement drivers to ensure Newmont production targets are meet in a cost-effective manner. Maintain equipment with a view to the long-term productivity and budget consideration. Support the Fleet Maintenance Manager in providing leadership of the Mobile Maintenance Team including resolution of cross team/shift issues and inconsistencies. Support, coach and mentor Coordinators and Supervisors. Develop cost reduction strategies to achieve budget expectations. Assist the Fleet Maintenance Manager with budget preparation, monitoring of budget and control of budget to ensure compliance. Manage service order invoice receipting and monthly cost accruals. Monitor, control and report on Mobile Maintenance overhead charges by examining monthly costs. Drive and influence proactive safety behaviours through visible leadership. Essential criteria 5 to 10 years’ experience working in large scale mining operations or heavy industry with demonstrated experience and knowledge working on Caterpillar heavy machinery. Extensive experience and ability in fault finding and maintaining diesel engines. Experience leading a team in a diverse cultural environment. Trade Qualification in Diesel Fitting or a Mechanical Trade. Currently hold PNG Driver’s Licence – Class 6. Experience with SAP and proficiency with Microsoft office suite. High attention to detail with good time management skills. Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building. Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously. Desirable criteria Previous experience in delivery and assessment of training. Field Operations Manager - Metering - 6 Month Contract

This role is accountable for ensuring the highest level of customer service, taking a customer centric approach in the provision of field metering services whilst ensuring field works are delivered in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner.Ensure that all safety critical activities are identified and effectively managed to reduce residual risk to a level that is 'as low as reasonably practical' to achieve Mission ZERO objectives.Lead the Field Metering, and the Planning and Scheduling Teams in the delivery of superior levels of service to customers, and in the delivery of projects & programs to budget, on time and in a safe manner.
