Contact Thalita at 0450 346 151 or thalitacahyani@pagepersonnel.com.auClient Details We are working with a smaller Federal Government agency seeking Work Health and Safety Advisers to fill in an APS 6 position for a 6-month temporary contract with a possible extension or permanency.Description Responsibilitiesprovide timely and accurate WHS advice to support all workers provide assistance and support to workers for reported incidents and hazards manage the Corporate Responsibility roles (Health and Safety Representative (HSR) and First Aid Officer (FAO). Including training, allowances, databases, first aid kits, AEDs, meetings and secretariat function WHS mailbox co-ordination assist with WHS Management System (WHSMS) document development, implementation and reviews as required assist with WHS initiatives and projects, for example: National Safe Work Month, Influenza Vaccination program, HSR forum and WHSMS audits assist with the collation and drafting of committee papers and WHS reports management of cases general financial and administration support provide support to the EL1 and WHS Partners. Experience The WHS Advisor will have:demonstrated understanding of WHS legislation, safety management systems and experience in supporting the development of strategies to address safety risks demonstrated experience in supporting the drafting of WHS risk assessments, investigations, inspections and audits and development of practical mitigation strategies to address workplace safety issues demonstrated ability to research to support the development and implementation of policies and procedures highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including a demonstrated ability to foster productive working relationships initiative and self-drive that is focused on the agency and WHS Section outcomes resilience when facing challenges and be comfortable working alongside a fast-paced and collaborative team and developing a deep understanding of the agency's priorities and values demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, initiative, sound judgement and close attention to detail, along with the ability to work through rapidly changing priorities in a fast-paced section.
