About the Role The South West region of WA is famous for its beaches, forests, vibrant arts scene, and a beautiful Mediterranean climate. The ABC's South West bureau is in Western Australia's biggest regional city, Bunbury, which is conveniently located between Perth and Margaret River. While Bunbury is a cosmopolitan city, rich in culture and heritage, it's surrounded by natural beauty. You can see dolphins at the local beaches or go for bush walks on local trails. Working as part of the South West team, you will be responsible for creating news content for multiple platforms, engaging the diverse local and national audiences. You'll produce and present radio news bulletins, digital articles, TV news bulletins, audio-on-demand content, and vertical videos for social media. You will also have the ability to cover breaking news across all platforms, including live coverage. In addition you will; Generate original story ideas that can be delivered for all platforms and shared with other content teams across the ABC. Contribute to the development of new content ideas to engage our audience. Contribute to the implementation of the Local Emergency Coverage plan and communicate with relevant stakeholders as required. About You You're an experienced journalist with a strong focus on digital and multi-platform storytelling and in particular the issues that affect the interest of the diverse local audience. You will have initiative, drive, and be a strong team player. This is a great opportunity to utilise your skills, knowledge and experience in journalism, to deliver high quality content. You will have a creative approach to content construction and delivery with experience in live presentation and broadcast. You will also have: Editorial skills including the ability to source and analyse information and exercise sound judgement. Strong understanding of the issues that affect and interest the local audience.
