Reporting to Project Manager or Project Director (depending on the role), you will lead a team of Project engineers, site engineers, supervisors and other support staff. Key Responsibilities Provide onsite engineering services and technical support to ensure the planning, implementation and maintenance of traffic management is carried out accordingly within specified guidelines Interpret designs to support implementation in construction at site in collaboration with Project Engineering department and recommend improvements to increase ease of construction. Lead, participate and contribute to site meetings, toolbox talks and pre-starts Support in preparation of Risk assessment plan & mitigate any risk of impact on the project schedule Providing technical advice to site team members whilst building and maintaining effective relationships with internal & external stakeholders like clients, consultants, sub-contractors. Work closely with contracts department in fulfilling contractual obligations, EOTs, variation claims etc. Support in awarding tenders to sub-contractors and manage packages aligned to project requirement. Ensure optimum utilisation of resources (material, machinery, manpower) allocated to the site in reducing costs, time and meeting budgets Ensure the safety of the construction team with the use of appropriate traffic management plans and control devices during construction activities, as per company policy. Exercise professional judgement in resolving site related issues with local council, local residents, road users, etc. Participate in critical incident management as per the Emergency Response Management Plan Review performance, train, coach and mentor your direct reports The Candidate Civil Engineering Tertiary Qualification 8 years’ experience in RMS / Vic Roads specifications for any road construction activity (earthwork / pavement construction / drainage works / bridge works / Asphalt works) Understanding of HSEQ management systems, compliance and reporting procedures up to date knowledge and application of, legislation, industry standards, HR/IR policies and technological innovations for the role Sound knowledge in preparing & managing budgets, forecasts and contractual claims & variations.
