We bring out the best in each other, inspiring performance and a shared belief that what we do matters.Who we’re looking for:Cadia Valley Operations is actively seeking a new UG Mechanical Technician, Trades Assistant to join our Cadia East Fixed Plant Department.If you have expertise in machine operations, prior experience in underground mining, and the ability to multitask and thrive in high-pressure environments, we'd love to connect with you!Kindly be advised that this position is based in Orange, NSW, operating on a rotating 7/7 roster, necessitating the successful candidate to work alternating days and nights.Key responsibilities include but not limited to: Operate within Major Hazard and Critical Control frameworks to ensure the safety and productivity of assets within Cadia East Underground Mine, Ridgeway Underground Mine (Care and Maintenance), and ancillary infrastructure. Plan and execute shutdown maintenance activities for the Cadia East Ore Handling System Provide support to the Fixed Plant Weekly team, fostering a positive team environment through effective communication and motivation. Promote a strong safety culture. Conduct regular audits to monitor major hazards and assess the effectiveness of critical controls. Actively participate in safety and production meetings, ensuring thorough discussion of major hazards and appropriate controls. Demonstrate visible leadership and maintain consistent attendance to set a standard for others. Ensure timely completion of work orders and compliance with safety procedures, including thorough documentation. Participate in coaching sessions and performance reviews to support personal and professional development. Perform Operator Critical Control Checks and pre-start checks on equipment to maintain operational readiness. Communicate issues promptly and effectively, ensuring work areas are safe and well-maintained. Cultivate productive relationships between various departments and contractors to optimize operations. Manage incidents according to site procedures and regulatory requirements to prevent reoccurrence. The ideal candidate will also possess the following: Previous experience in underground mining and machine operations Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
