Emergency Medical Dispatch Support Officer - Pool (Multiple positions)

As an Emergency Medical Dispatch Support Officer (EMDSOs), you will manage incoming emergency triple zero (000) and non-urgent phone calls to assess a patient's condition and provide clear and appropriate emergency medical First Aid in accordance with SAAS protocols and procedures until further assistance arrives or the matter is resolved.You will acquire emergency medical dispatch support skills and knowledge through provided training in a HLT31020 - Certificate III in Ambulance Communications (Call-taking) - along with ongoing mentoring, support and 'on the job' training.This role also involves dispatch support, service quality, customer service and ongoing training and development as well as making and receiving non-emergency calls, interaction with other healthcare providers and emergency service agencies as required.To be successful in this role, you will enjoy helping others during periods of high stress and anxiety through the use of technology systems, multiple screens, and high-level verbal communication and problem-solving skills.  You will use standard organisational protocols to remain calm and reassuring to help guide and determine the most appropriate care pathway for the patient.  You will be required to liaise effectively with the caller and other Emergency Operations Centre staff to ensure that the patient receives the required medical attention within agreed timeframes.  Roles available may be full time, part time or casual.
